Scientific Polaris Unveils World's First Fully Automated Field Emission SEM Driven by Intelligent Agent

By AI123

Scientific Polaris held a new product launch event in Shanghai on September 25, 2026, unveiling the AiSEM F1, described as the world's first AI fully automated field emission scanning electron microscope. The instrument is driven by the AI-native agent XLING and features four core capabilities: automation, self-evolution, high throughput and full openness, with a domestic component rate exceeding 98%.

Unlike traditional scanning electron microscopes that require manual step-by-step operation, the AiSEM F1 allows users to issue tasks through text or voice. The instrument can autonomously interpret requirements, formulate strategies and complete operations such as sample searching, region selection, parameter adjustment and imaging. According to a demonstration video shown at the event, after a single deployment, the microscope completed sample switching, region positioning and multi-magnification imaging, collecting 304 valid images in 313 minutes.

Task experience accumulated during experiments can be retained and iterated, and reused across multiple instruments. Through open APIs and third-party expansion interfaces, the product can connect to large models, AI platforms and external hardware and software, supporting collaboration across instruments, data and systems. Company founder Pan Yu said the company aims to turn its understanding of next-generation scientific instruments into products and help domestic instruments move from imitation to original innovation.
