Inkitt launches AI video generator Movie Creator in public beta

By AI123

Inkitt, a digital publishing and AI media startup, launched the public beta of Inkitt Movie Creator on September 24, 2026, enabling users to turn text-based scripts into AI-generated films in minutes.

The product is powered by Cinematica, an in-house harness built by Inkitt's AI video team that orchestrates image, video and language models while encoding real-world filmmaking techniques. Founder and CEO Ali Albazaz said the company is not competing with foundation video models such as ByteDance's Seedance or MiniMax; instead, the opportunity lies in making those models easier to control in an actual production workflow.

Movie Creator lets users set up characters, locations and props, generate multiple versions of individual scenes, and request conversational adjustments to shots that are close but not quite right. Users can also choose underlying models based on quality and cost, including Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3.

Inkitt estimates production costs through Movie Creator at $75 to $500 per minute of final content, depending on the number of generation attempts and the chosen model. The tool is available now on Inkitt's website; there is no Cinematica API at launch, and an MCP server integration is planned.
