Rig Security Emerges From Stealth With $12M for AI Agent Identity Protection

By AI123

Rig Security, an identity protection startup founded by Wiz alum Guy Kozliner, emerged from stealth on September 29 with $12 million in seed funding. The round was co-led by Ten Eleven Ventures and Brightmind Partners, with strategic participation from CrowdStrike Falcon Fund and additional backing from cybersecurity founders and executives, including Wiz co-founder Ami Luttwak.

The company's platform is designed to discover and protect all identities, including AI agents at runtime. According to Rig, AI agents often borrow the identities of the humans or service accounts that launch them, so in identity provider logs and SIEM systems, an agent deleting a production database can look exactly like the account owner. The platform correlates human, machine, and AI identities across cloud, on-premises, identity-provider, and endpoint environments into a single graph. Its proprietary Rig Identity Correlation Engine (RICE) uses machine learning and mathematical modeling to resolve identities with more than 96% accuracy in internal tests. The platform combines Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM) and Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), and can be deployed agentlessly. A lightweight endpoint sensor can distinguish an AI agent's session from the user's own and enforce policy inline, blocking risky actions before they reach the cloud.

Rig said it is already in production with Fortune 200 companies in financial services, insurance, healthcare, and technology, and is available on AWS Marketplace and CrowdStrike Marketplace. The company has grown to 20 employees and protects tens of millions of identity activities. Kozliner said security teams can see an account did something dangerous but cannot tell whether a person or an agent did it, and blocking the agent without disrupting the person requires runtime attribution and enforcement.
