At Huawei's Mate 90 series and all-scenario new product launch event on October 1, the company announced that the Mate 90 Pro is the first smartphone to feature the new Kirin 9035 flagship chip. The chip is the latest mobile processor in the Kirin lineup, bringing notable improvements in CPU, GPU, and NPU performance compared to its predecessor.

According to Richard Yu, Huawei's Executive Director and Chairman of the Consumer Business Group, the Kirin 9035 delivers an 11% CPU performance increase, a 10% GPU performance boost, and a 51% NPU improvement over the Kirin 9030 found in the 12GB version of the Mate 80 Pro. The chip also supports FFRT software-hardware collaborative scheduling, doubling image loading speed.

Earlier reports indicated that the standard Mate 90 is equipped with the Kirin 9030 flagship chip, which offers a 13% CPU increase, a 54% GPU boost, and a 13% NPU improvement over the Kirin 9020. The significant NPU upgrade on the Kirin 9035 suggests further progress in on-device intelligent computing capabilities.
