Black Forest Labs Launches FLUX 3 Image Model on OpenRouter

Black Forest Labs released its new flagship image generation model, FLUX 3 Image, on October 2, 2026, and it is now available on the OpenRouter platform. The company, focused on image generation models, positions FLUX 3 Image as the latest addition to its image generation lineup, supporting text-to-image and multi-reference editing.

According to the official announcement, FLUX 3 Image enables pixel-level precise multi-turn editing, allowing local adjustments without altering other pixels. It also supports bounding-box-based layout control, generates images at resolutions up to 4K, and can combine up to 10 reference images for composition.

Commercial weights are available for enterprises running image generation at scale, and an open weights version is expected to launch in the coming weeks.
