Nvidia and Foxconn debut robotic automation for GB300 assembly with over 95% busbar success

By AI123

Nvidia and Foxconn (Hon Hai) have for the first time demonstrated robotic automation in the manufacturing of Nvidia's GB300 platform, specifically for busbar and multi-connector assembly steps that are complex and have typically relied on manual labor.

According to the demonstration, busbar assembly success exceeds 95%, while multi-connector insertion success is around 90%-95%. Target times are under 124 seconds for busbar assembly and under 72 seconds for inserting four connectors, with overall production cycle time within twice that of skilled manual work.

GB300 is based on Nvidia's Blackwell Ultra architecture. The GB300 NVL72 uses a fully liquid-cooled rack-scale design integrating 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs and 36 Arm-based NVIDIA Grace CPUs into a single platform connected via NVLink, operating like one large GPU. It was announced at GTC on March 18, 2025.

Foxconn, the world's largest electronics manufacturing services provider, holds more than 40% of the global AI server market and is a major supplier of Nvidia's GB200 NVL72 and GB300 NVL72 platforms. The two companies cooperate on joint design manufacturing (JDM), covering rack architecture and liquid cooling solutions. Foxconn also plans to become one of the first companies to adopt an 800 VDC power architecture through its K-1 project.
