Musk Confirms SpaceXAI Will Be Renamed SpaceXSI

On September 29, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing all federal agencies to replace the term "artificial intelligence" with "super intelligence" (SI). On October 4, responding to a user's question on X, Elon Musk confirmed that SpaceXAI would be renamed SpaceXSI, saying "Yes, we will make that change."

Musk later stated on X that SpaceX is a super intelligence company. The SpaceXAI name was adopted in July 2026, after SpaceX acquired xAI, bringing the Grok chatbot and social platform X under the SpaceX umbrella.

Earlier, when Trump first announced the terminology shift, Musk briefly said "AI" before quickly correcting himself to "SI" during a media interview at the White House. Trump thanked Musk and patted him on the shoulder with a smile.
