LG Electronics Signs Long-Term Supply Agreement for Over 5GW of AI Data Center Chillers
LG Electronics announced on October 5 that its North American branch has signed a long-term supply agreement with HVAC services company AIR Control Concepts for advanced chillers for AI data centers (AIDC) totaling more than 5GW.
AIR Control Concepts manages ultra-large-scale infrastructure projects at major North American data center hubs, with leading global data center operators among its main customers. The long-term contract is expected to accelerate LG's expansion into the global AIDC cooling market, responding to the growing demand for efficient heat dissipation solutions in computing infrastructure.
LG's AIDC chillers combine centrifugal air-cooled architecture with refrigerant free-cooling technology, using outdoor cold air to reduce compressor cooling load. According to LG's internal simulations, refrigerant free-cooling can save about 30% energy per year compared with water-cooling technology.
