Xiaomi Promotes 31-Year-Old LLM Lead to 22nd Grade in Record 10 Months
Xiaomi has internally announced a promotion list, elevating 31-year-old Luo Fuli, head of its large language model team, to Grade 22. Since her official appointment in November 2025, Luo reached the top of Xiaomi's career ladder in just 10 months, setting the fastest promotion record in the company's history.
Alongside the promotion, the MiMo team released and open-sourced the Xiaomi MiMo-V2.6 series, including Pro and Flash, two native all-modal models. Powered by expanded RL compute, MiMo-V2.6-Pro scored 46 points on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, ranking first among open-weight models. At a comparable intelligence level, its price is only 1/20 to 1/60 of overseas models. The team described this as a key step toward exploring RSI (Recursive Self-Improvement).
According to public information, Xiaomi has ten internal grades from 13 to 22, with directors corresponding to Grades 19-20 and vice presidents to Grades 21-22. Employees at Grade 19 can earn an annual salary of over 2 million yuan. With this promotion, Luo has entered the company's core senior management.
Luo graduated from Beijing Normal University and Peking University, and previously worked at DeepSeek, contributing to models such as DeepSeek-V2. In November 2025, she joined Xiaomi's MiMo team and debuted as the head of MiMo at Xiaomi's Human x Car x Home partner conference in December 2025. In March 2026, Xiaomi released three models including the agent-oriented flagship base model Xiaomi MiMo-V2-Pro. In July 2026, after restructuring its XiaoAi assistant, Xiaomi assigned basic model capabilities to Luo's MiMo team, expanding her scope of responsibility.
