Grok Bot to Route Queries Across Multiple Models, Including Claude and MidJourney
Elon Musk announced on Twitter that the Grok Bot agent service will now act as a model router, selecting from a range of models to give users the best possible answer for each request. Instead of relying solely on SpaceX's own Grok model, the service can pick from Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5, image generator MidJourney, audio maker Suno, and presumably others, including Grok 4.7.
According to Musk, simple questions will be routed to small, fast models, while complex questions will go to large models. The announcement comes just weeks after SpaceX released Grok 4.7, claiming it was competitive with frontier models in coding and knowledge work.
The move suggests SpaceX is increasingly positioning itself as infrastructure for AI development. Earlier this year, the company agreed to let Anthropic use its massive Colossus data center to train and run Claude. SpaceX also confirmed that Beam, an open-source model from Reflection AI, was trained on Colossus servers.
