Ant International's Agent Payment Protocol Onboards 10 E-Wallets and 7 Acquirers
Ant International announced on October 8, 2026 that its self-developed Mobile Agent Protocol (AMP) has onboarded 10 major e-wallets and 7 leading global acquirers, covering 1.5 billion users. The protocol also achieves trust framework synergy with Mastercard and Visa, enabling identity interoperability between card networks and e-wallets for the first time.
The company's Chief Innovation Officer, Yang Jiangming, noted that most existing AI payment standards are designed for card networks, leaving e-wallet AI payments without a common cross-platform protocol. AMP is an open-source protocol that does not bind to any single model and is designed to provide a unified language among e-wallets, card networks and AI platforms. Once a member completes verification, all AMP members can recognize it, allowing "one integration, multiple use".
The initial e-wallet partners include Alipay (mainland China), AlipayHK (Hong Kong), DANA (Indonesia) and KakaoPay (South Korea). Acquirers include Adyen (Netherlands) and Checkout.com (UK). Merchants who integrate with AMP once can reach a broader user base without connecting to each payment tool separately.
AMP supports a minimum settlement precision of $0.000001, making token-based transactions recordable and traceable. It also provides a fund-loss guarantee for agent transactions. A national standard for agent identity management has been initiated, as the global agent payment network moves toward interoperability.
