Nvidia in Talks to Invest Additional $1B in Humanoid Robot Maker Figure

By AI123

Nvidia has discussed investing an additional $1 billion in humanoid robot maker Figure, according to a person familiar with the matter cited by The Information. Figure is seeking more funding at a pre-money valuation of about $38 billion.

Nvidia already holds a stake in Figure, having participated in a funding round of more than $1 billion at the same valuation in October 2025.

The person also said Nvidia may invest in startups that help develop its Nemotron open-source models and other AI applications. Nvidia agreed to pay $6 billion for a software license from Poolside and hire its employees, partly to advance Nemotron. Poolside employees launched the open-weight Laguna AI model in 2026.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who leads the company's investment strategy, has expressed concerns about cooling AI demand or the emergence of alternative chips that could displace Nvidia's dominance. Nvidia held $99 billion in cash and securities. In the six months through July 2026, three customers accounted for 44% of total sales.
