By AI123

TSMC reported on Oct. 8 that its September revenue came in at NT$511.857 billion, up 54.6% year-on-year and down 0.6% from the previous month. Third-quarter revenue reached NT$1.49 trillion (about $46.7 billion), up 51% year-on-year and above the average analyst estimate of NT$1.46 trillion, according to Bloomberg calculations based on TSMC data.

For the first nine months of 2026, cumulative revenue totaled NT$3.899 trillion, an increase of 41.1% from NT$2.7629 trillion in the same period last year. TSMC shares hit record highs this month, reflecting long-term confidence in its advanced products.

TSMC, a key manufacturing partner for Nvidia and Apple, is widely watched as a barometer of AI demand. The results reinforced confidence in the AI demand outlook. AMD CEO Lisa Su said during the week of Oct. 5 that chip demand would continue to grow strongly in the coming years. Samsung Electronics reported an almost nine-fold surge in operating profit, while AI server assembler Foxconn's quarterly sales, released this week, also beat market expectations.
