XPENG Unveils Humanoid Robot Mass Production Plan: 2026 Year-End, Deliveries in H1 2027
At the Paris Motor Show on October 12, XPENG unveiled its roadmap for humanoid robot mass production. The company plans to begin mass production of humanoid robots by the end of 2026, with deliveries starting in the first half of 2027. Initial deployments will target commercial settings such as stores and shopping malls, before expanding to industrial and household scenarios.
XPENG said its robot production line has recently been activated, and its first general-purpose humanoid robot has rolled off the line after automated final assembly, marking a shift from R&D prototyping to manufacturing. The humanoid robot, named IRON, features multimodal interaction capabilities, including face recognition, contextual conversation memory, and support for Chinese, English, and German.
The company also shared updates on its autonomous driving efforts. Its second-generation VLA model spans capabilities from L2 to L4, and the same model is deployed on XPENG's L4 Robotaxi. The Robotaxi has been branded "XPENG YOYO" in Chinese and English, with a ride-hailing mini-program now online and gradually opening to the public.
