AI blueprint startup Blueprints AI lands Startup Battlefield 200 spot, unveils second-gen software at Disrupt
Blueprints AI, an AI-powered startup that generates construction blueprints from 2D sketches or PDFs, has been selected for the 2026 Startup Battlefield 200 cohort and will exhibit at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco from October 13 to 15, where it plans to unveil a more capable second-generation version of its software.
The company was founded in 2025 in Santa Monica by Al Drams and Coco Cao. Its platform uses AI to turn rough 2D sketches or PDFs into code-compliant, permit-ready architectural construction blueprints in minutes.
Drams first conceived of such software nearly two decades ago as an architecture student writing his thesis on generating design documents for school buildings, but the underlying technology did not exist at the time. After ChatGPT was released in November 2022, he revived the idea and launched Blueprints AI within six months.
The second-generation software lets users start from a description or sketch and generate blueprints for all aspects of a building at once, including architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and interior design. Users can also make design changes, with a single change updating the entire project while checking it against local building codes. Early customers are already using the new version, and it is expected to become publicly available this week. The startup is also working on a third version that will add structural analysis and electrical panel design.
