Apple Unveils HomeView Smart Home Hub With Siri AI
Apple has announced the HomeView, a new smart home hub designed to act as a command center for connected devices such as smart doorbells, lights, and thermostats. The device, unveiled at the “Welcome Home” event, is priced at $299 and will be available on November 13, 2026, with pre-orders opening October 13, 2026.
The HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen and is powered by Siri AI. It supports Matter and Thread protocols for broad compatibility with existing smart home gear. Two versions are offered: one with a built-in speaker in its base, resembling the old iMac G4, available in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space grey; and a wall-mountable version in silver and space gray. Wall mounts come in three configurations at $59, $79, and $129.
The hub can display temperature, show calendar events, provide touchscreen controls for smart home devices, and show security camera or video doorbell footage. A front-facing FaceTime camera supports video calls, and multiple HomeViews can be used as an intercom. Built-in sensors recognize family members and switch accounts to show personal information such as calendars, notes, messages, reminders, and photos.
Apple is also partnering with LG on an Apple Home Collection of co-designed smart home devices, including a smart doorbell, smart lock, indoor and outdoor security cameras, and a smart thermostat. With Apple Intelligence, the HomeView can generate automatic video descriptions from supported home devices; the feature previously required an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone, but now only needs the HomeView and a 2TB iCloud+ subscription.
