Pluto Security exits stealth with $42M, targets AI tool risks in enterprises

By AI123

Pluto Security, an AI security startup focused on helping enterprises manage risks introduced by employee use of AI tools, emerged from stealth on October 14 with $42 million in total funding. The company monitors AI tools, skills, extensions, MCP servers, and internally built AI apps and agents.

The startup's $8.5 million seed round was led by TLV Partners, with participation from the founders of cybersecurity firm Armis. Its $34 million Series A was led by Jump Capital, with participation from Skinos, the venture firm of Check Point co-founder Shlomo Kramer, Ansa Capital, and other angel investors.

Pluto began selling in April 2026 and has already surpassed $2 million in annual recurring revenue, with more than 30 enterprise customers, including Oscar Health, Workato, Sixt, and AlphaSense. According to the company, about 60% of the risks it detects across its customer base are in tools vibe-coded by non-developers, with finance departments being the biggest source of such risks, followed by marketing and legal teams, while developers rank fourth.

Pluto's platform identifies risky components, flags potentially dangerous agent activity, and enforces security policies without stopping employees from using or building AI tools. It connects to endpoint security and device management systems, runs lightweight models on endpoints to assess what an agent is trying to do, and can intervene while an agent is working — for example, by blocking an action or injecting instructions into the session to prompt the agent to ask for confirmation when it attempts to gain permissions beyond what the user intended.

In April, the company also launched Plutonium, a free platform that lets users check risks associated with publicly available AI skills, connectors, and add-ons, along with an MCP scanner and a catalog of verified components. Pluto said 70% of its sales pipeline now comes from inbound interest. The new capital will go toward product development, expanding security research efforts, and growing its presence in the U.S. The company has 40 employees in the U.S. and Israel.
