Oracle Urges FERC to Speed Up Approval for Data Center Gas Pipeline in New Mexico

By AI123

On October 13, Josh Pitcock, Oracle's senior vice president of government affairs, wrote to the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requesting expedited approval for a natural gas pipeline needed to power a large data center project in New Mexico.

The pipeline, named Green Chile and operated by a subsidiary of Energy Transfer LP, is designed to deliver about 400 million cubic feet of natural gas per day to fuel Bloom Energy fuel cells supporting Project Jupiter. Pitcock said further delays by FERC could postpone the project's operation and affect associated jobs, economic activity, and community benefits.

The pipeline's in-service date has been pushed back from the originally planned August 15 to February 2027. This is Oracle's latest request for accelerated approval.
