Anthropic Makes Claude Opus 5.5 Fast Mode Generally Available

Anthropic has announced that Claude Opus 5.5 fast mode is no longer in research preview on the Claude platform, and the waitlist has been removed.

The company said fast mode delivers the same Opus 5.5 model at up to 2.5 times the speed. It is priced at $8 per million input tokens and $40 per million output tokens.

The offering is also now available in Microsoft Foundry, hosted on Azure, with support for Google Cloud coming soon. Fast mode in Claude Code remains unchanged and continues to use additional usage credits.

Anthropic also noted that updated documentation is available on the Claude platform website for developers.
