Zhongqing Robot Unveils 'Engine Plan' to Open Humanoid Robot SDK to Global Developers
On October 16, Zhongqing Robot announced the launch of "Engine Plan", an embodied intelligence ecosystem collaboration project that opens its humanoid robot SDK to global developers and partners, while promoting open-source co-building of foundation models, datasets and development toolchains. The move signals the company's shift from a technology product vendor to an ecosystem platform player.
According to the company, the plan covers three layers: tools, models, and data. On the tool layer, Zhongqing Robot provides a dual-channel SDK development framework, including a lightweight rapid development channel and an in-depth customization channel with underlying interfaces, complete deployment code and optimized reuse frameworks. It also offers simulation environment assets so developers can validate algorithms in simulation before deploying to physical robots.
On the model layer, the company plans to gradually open its self-developed motion control framework and embodied model weights, covering motion control, environment perception and intelligent decision-making. On the data layer, Zhongqing Robot said it will release 1,000 hours of first-person (Ego) embodied datasets and 10 hours of real-machine datasets in the fourth quarter of 2026, aiming to ease the industry-wide shortage of high-quality real-world robotic data.
Founded in October 2023, Zhongqing Robot focuses on the R&D, manufacturing and deployment of humanoid robots and related products. In less than three years, it has completed eight funding rounds. In April 2026, it closed a $200 million Series B round, reaching a post-money valuation of over 10 billion yuan. The company said the "Engine Plan" intends to lower the development threshold for humanoid robots and accelerate their transition from lab prototypes to commercial deployment.
