Mech-Mind CEO: Advanced Manufacturing Is the Next Focus for Embodied Intelligence
At the 26th China International Industry Fair (CIIF), held in October 2026, Mech-Mind founder and CEO Tianlan Shao said advanced manufacturing is the next main direction for embodied intelligence. He said artificial intelligence is reshaping the entire chain of R&D, production, quality control and operations, moving manufacturing from experience-driven to data-driven decision-making.
Shao argued that making data a key element, models a core engine and industrial agents an important carrier, and giving manufacturing systems capabilities including self-perception, self-decision-making, self-execution, self-adaptation, self-learning and self-optimization, will create significant opportunities for embodied intelligence. The deep integration of new-generation AI and advanced manufacturing, he said, is forming a third basic paradigm for manufacturing development.
He introduced Mech-Mind's universal "eye-brain-hand" robot solution, which he said provides application capabilities across robot platforms, industries and scenarios, and can handle complex scenes and difficult tasks. The company has set up offices in Seoul, Munich and Detroit, building a service network spanning sales, delivery, training and after-sales support. Its business covers nearly 50 countries and regions and serves more than 100 Fortune Global 500 companies.
Mech-Mind's physical AI solution has also been selected into the World Economic Forum's "AI Application Star" (MINDS) program. Shao said embodied intelligence is accelerating its adoption across industries as product versatility, reliability and ease of use improve, and the company expects to work with industry partners to create replicable, scalable global application value.
