Jensen Huang Takes GTC Berlin Stage as Nvidia Emphasizes AI Factories and Europe Investment
Nvidia's GTC conference is being held in Berlin from Oct. 20 to 22 local time, with CEO Jensen Huang delivering a keynote on Oct. 21. The event features more than 100 sessions covering the full AI technology stack, with a focus on accelerated computing, agentic AI, physical AI, robotics, open-source models and AI infrastructure. Nvidia is underscoring its strategic shift from selling GPUs to selling AI factories.
On the hardware front, progress on the Vera Rubin platform is a key point of interest. Unveiled at GTC in San Jose in March 2026, the platform is positioned as a full-stack computing platform for agentic AI, spanning CPUs, GPUs, networking and storage. Attention is centering on whether large cloud providers will move toward large-scale deployment and whether per-token inference costs can decline meaningfully.
Nvidia's European investment plans are also drawing attention at the conference. On Oct. 13, Huang said in Paris that Nvidia would announce about $2 billion in new European AI investments or deals within the following week, adding that the company had already invested about $8 billion in Europe over the past year. According to German newspaper Handelsblatt, Germany is planning an AI cooperation with Nvidia and is expected to receive government funding of several hundred million euros, with an announcement possible around the same time as GTC. The cooperation would be based on Nvidia's Nemotron language models and Cosmos physical AI models, aiming to develop physical AI for robots and self-driving cars and to train internationally competitive industrial AI models. Dozens of German companies are expected to participate, including Siemens and Audi.
