Dream Labs Raises $90M Seed Funding and Launches First Public Robot Brain API
On October 20, Dream Labs, founded by the team behind NVIDIA's DreamZero project, emerged from stealth and announced a $90 million seed round led by B Capital, with participation from Kindred Ventures, A.Capital, Unusual Ventures, SV Angel, Wing VC, Scribble VC, and others. The company also launched Dream API, described as the world's first publicly accessible robot brain API.
Dream API is powered by Dream Labs' first model, Dream-1, which enables developers without a machine learning background to control robots through natural language commands. The model generates motor control instructions and adapts to robots never seen during training. More than 20 hardware manufacturers have already joined as partners, and the API is priced at $3 per hour.
The core team previously worked on NVIDIA's GR00T robotics initiative and proposed the World Action Model (WAM) in February. In third-party benchmarks, Dream-1 scored 59% on the RoboDojo-RC Tier 1 evaluation, outperforming general-purpose models such as GPT-6 Astra and Gemini 4 Argon. Dream-1 currently handles tabletop tasks, with future support planned for wheeled robots and dexterous hands. The funding will primarily go toward computing capacity.
