Legal AI startup Legora announced on Wednesday, Oct. 21, that it raised $550 million in a Series E round led by Atreides Management, at a post-money valuation of $8.8 billion. The Sweden-based company said the funds will support expansion in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and will be used to improve its agent operating system, Legora aOS.

Legora said the U.S. is currently its largest revenue market. The company opened its first U.S. office in New York in March 2025, and has since added locations in Denver, Chicago, Houston and San Francisco. Its products help lawyers conduct legal research, review documents and draft legal filings, and are used by more than 2,400 law firms and corporate legal teams, with annual recurring revenue exceeding $200 million.

New investors in the round included Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners and JPMorgan, alongside existing backers. Founded in 2023, Legora launched its platform in October 2024 and now has more than 1,000 employees. In March 2026, the company raised $550 million at a $5.55 billion valuation. Rival Harvey, based in San Francisco, completed a $550 million funding round in September 2026 at a $15.5 billion valuation.

CEO and co-founder Max Junestrand said AI is changing the role of lawyers, allowing them to spend more time on judgment and professional advice, while reshaping how law firms and in-house legal teams are organized and work.
