Siemens Healthineers and NVIDIA Partner on Next-Gen Adaptive Radiation Therapy with AI Agents
On October 22, 2026, Siemens Healthineers and NVIDIA announced a collaboration to develop next-generation adaptive radiation therapy, combining agentic and robotic intelligence with accelerated computing and simulation to streamline workflows and improve accessibility.
Siemens Healthineers CEO Bernd Montag said the companies have identified three initial development areas: agentic AI in treatment planning to help evaluate plans, perform computations, and interact with clinicians; advanced patient simulation using patient-specific digital twins to test scenarios before treatment; and real-time adaptive computing to help oncology teams respond to changing patient conditions during treatment.
Arthur Kaindl, President of the Oncology business at Siemens Healthineers, stated that adaptive radiation therapy is based on the principle that treatment should adapt to the patient, not the other way around. He noted recent progress including the Accela system, and said the partnership with NVIDIA aims to explore how AI and real-time computing can provide faster insights for clinicians.
