Tata Communications announced on October 26, 2026 that it plans to invest $400-450 million in building an AI-ready, high-bandwidth, low-latency network corridor in India to connect key artificial intelligence data centers.

The company intends to lay approximately 10,000 km of new long-haul optical fiber in three phases, providing network infrastructure for global customers deploying compute capacity in India. The first phase will connect Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai across the east-west corridor, with later phases extending to Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar on the east coast, as well as Jamnagar and GIFT City in Gujarat on the west.
