Nvidia to Invest $3B in Meta, Expand Muse AI Collaboration
Nvidia and Meta announced a strategic partnership under which Nvidia plans to invest $3 billion in a Meta equity offering. The two companies will deepen their collaboration on the Muse AI assistant and related large models.
As part of the deal, Meta will significantly expand its deployment of Nvidia's next-generation computing infrastructure, including the Vera Rubin architecture and Vera CPU, as well as Spectrum-X Ethernet networking and BlueField-4 devices, to improve network efficiency and data throughput for next-generation AI agents.
On the software side, the companies will jointly optimize Muse's inference and training performance, integrating an end-to-end workflow from infrastructure to large models to reduce total cost of ownership. They are also exploring technical synergies around Nvidia's OpenShell reference architecture, including NVIDIA OpenShell for secure deployment and NVIDIA Sentry for monitoring agent behavior and processing structured and unstructured graph data.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said AI agents represent a new computing paradigm, with software that can understand human goals, reason, and use tools to perform tasks. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reaffirmed Muse's strategic position in bringing AI to the masses, saying the ongoing collaboration aims to deliver personal agents and advanced large models to billions of users worldwide.
