Meta launches AI pet app Waddle World in the Philippines
Meta has launched Waddle World, an AI-powered virtual pet app, on iOS and Android in the Philippines. Users can hatch, feed, and interact with a pixel pet in a cozy 16-bit world. The app also includes journal and mini-game features. Meta explicitly notes that Waddle World is not a chatbot, assistant, or productivity tool, and it is rated for users over 18.
In the app, users can describe their day by voice or text, and the pet will write a journal entry in its own voice with a doodle. Mini-games are designed to be played in just a few minutes, and the app can send a weekly email based on what it has learned about the user.
The launch continues Meta's string of AI-focused app experiments, following apps like Pocket, which lets users vibe-code games, and Vibes, which generates videos quickly. Meta has not yet responded to a request for comment about wider availability.
