Scientists at MIT and other institutions have developed an AI system named xvr that performs patient-specific adaptation and matches intraoperative 2D X-ray images with preoperative 3D CT or MRI scans within seconds at submillimeter accuracy. In tests using real data from five hospitals, it outperformed existing AI methods in accuracy and stability. The findings were published in Nature.
