Joe Weinman said in his opening speech that China's deep investments in AI's underlying technology architecture are underestimated, that all-optical photonic chips are a highly promising technical route, and he cited Tsinghua University's Taiji-1 and Taiji-2 chips as well as China's multiple breakthroughs in quantum computing.
