Unitree Robotics and the Chengdu Houmi street dance crew brought humanoid robots to the finals of America's Got Talent Season 21, becoming the first Chinese team to advance to the show's finale. They performed street dance, martial-arts-inspired choreography, and a water-sleeve dance, with robots achieving fully autonomous positioning and coordinated swarm movements. The team did not win the championship.
At the fifth Global Digital Trade Expo in Hangzhou, Boweitong, a Binjiang-based company, and Unitree jointly unveiled a full-size humanoid robot for substations. The robot can manually operate 6kV high-voltage equipment in distribution rooms, marking their second collaboration after a firefighting robot dog; it relies on Boweitong's embodied intelligence operation platform for end-to-end autonomous operations and backend monitoring.
At the 5th Global Digital Trade Expo on September 24, 2026, Unitree Robotics founder Wang Xingxing gave a speech titled "From Mechanics to Intelligence: The Evolution of Embodied Future," outlining the company's robot technology progress: its robot foundation model now supports real-time action generation from voice commands, enabling long-sequence continuous tasks with anti-interference capability. He proposed replacing manual development flows with autonomous AI closed loops to address scarce real-world data, and predicted embodied intelligence will see its own "ChatGPT moment," with the current core bottleneck being millimeter-level mismatches between AI models and the physical world.
REK hosted the first human vs. humanoid robot MMA cage match in the US, where the robot was knocked down but got up and KO'd the human fighter; the robot was remotely controlled by a human via VR and motion controls.
TaShan Technology and Openmind, co-founded by 2024 Turing Award winner Richard Sutton, officially opened a "Robot Kindergarten" at Shougang Park in Beijing. The facility features testing, learning, and interaction zones, aiming to let robots learn through trial and error in real environments.
