Springer Nature announced on October 28 that it is partnering with Google DeepMind to co-design an AI peer-review assistant, built on Google's open-source agent development kit and running on the secure Gemini Enterprise platform, to help reviewers assess papers more efficiently and strengthen research quality and integrity.
Springer Nature has updated its AI editorial policy, based on principles of responsibility, transparency and human oversight, providing guidance to support responsible AI use and prohibiting AI-generated conclusions and delegation of peer review to AI tools.
