On October 12, at the 26th China International Industry Fair, the errand robot “Danbao,” equipped with a pure-vision end-side brain, was officially released, with Fudan University postdoctoral researcher Zhang Tianzi saying the technology lets robots operate without pre-built maps by using visual perception alone to achieve real-time spatial understanding and autonomous decision-making on an end-side chip drawing less than 20 watts. The team is adapting the system for delivery, inspection, and commercial cleaning robots.
