TALOS

TALOS is PAL Robotics' high-performance bipedal research robot, used by leading laboratories worldwide for robotics, AI and human-centred technology research. Torque sensing in every joint makes it fully torque-controllable, supporting rich perception and multi-contact motion; an EtherCAT communication network runs the control loop at 2 kHz (up to 5 kHz) for highly responsive dynamic motion. Designed for heavy industrial tools, each fully extended arm lifts 6 kg, suiting factory-of-the-future environments. The whole machine is ROS-based and fully configurable, with customisable head and grippers and an open-source simulation model. It stands 175 cm tall, weighs 95 kg, and the battery lasts 1.5 hours walking and 3 hours on standby.
