Amazon Prime Video Debuts AI Lip-Sync for Translated Dubbing

By AI123

On Sept. 9, Amazon announced via press release that Prime Video has introduced an AI lip-sync feature. The feature combines AI and visual effects to align actors' lip movements with translated dialogue, and is currently available only for the English dub of the German series "Maxton Hall: The World Between Us." Global subscribers can use it on the first two seasons; the third season, which premieres Dec. 9, 2026, will also support it.

Prime Video said the feature will be expanded to more titles in the future. Meta and YouTube have also recently introduced AI auto-dubbing tools for creators, including a lip-sync option that makes the speaker appear to be talking directly in the viewer's preferred language.

In 2025, Prime Video began testing AI-assisted dubbing in English and Spanish across 12 films and series.
