LiveKit Agents Adds Support for OpenAI's GPT-Live-1 Real-Time Voice Model

LiveKit has announced that its Agents platform now supports OpenAI's GPT-Live-1 model. Developers can integrate the model through a new plugin called GPTLiveModel while continuing to use the existing AgentSession API.

GPT-Live-1 enables full-duplex communication, allowing it to listen and speak simultaneously without taking turns. The model can hand off reasoning and tool calls to a backend model, preventing agents from sitting in dead air during slow lookups.

LiveKit, a real-time audio/video communication platform, builds its Agents platform for voice AI agent development. Official documentation has been updated with integration guidance.
