AIUC raises $40M to certify enterprise AI agents

By AI123

AIUC, an AI safety startup focused on third-party audit and certification for AI agents, has raised $40 million in a Series A round led by Ribbit Capital, with participation from First Harmonic. The company previously secured a $15 million seed round backed by Nat Friedman's NFDG, Emergence, Terrain and Anthropic co-founder Ben Mann, bringing total funding to $55 million.

Founded by Rune Kvist, an early Anthropic employee, and Rajiv Dattani, former COO of the AI safety research organization METR, AIUC has built a testing and certification layer for enterprise AI agents. The startup modeled its approach on the widely used SOC 2 cybersecurity framework and developed its own standard, AIUC-1.

AIUC tests agents against roughly 5,000 scenarios involving jailbreaks, hallucinations and data leaks, drawing on input from a consortium of about 250 security and risk leaders. Humans verify the final audit results. The startup lists Cursor, Lovable, Harvey and ElevenLabs as customers.
