OpenAI Launches Ads Manager, Tests Sponsored Agents in ChatGPT

By AI123

OpenAI is accelerating its push into the advertising market with the launch of Ads Manager, an AI-powered tool for advertisers, and the introduction of Sponsored Agents, a feature currently being tested in ChatGPT.

Ads Manager lets advertisers create, update, and analyze campaigns using natural language instructions. Advertisers can also input website content or marketing briefs, and the AI will generate ad creative, recommend copy and images based on landing pages and campaign goals, and provide performance analysis and optimization suggestions. An optional AI-driven text customization feature can adjust ad headlines and descriptions according to conversation context and translate copy into a user's preferred language.

According to OpenAI, Sponsored Agents will be clearly labeled and isolated from ChatGPT's independent answers and users' existing conversations. The feature is being tested with a subset of advertisers in the U.S.

OpenAI also announced partnerships with HubSpot and Shopify, making HubSpot the first CRM partner and Shopify the first e-commerce partner for its advertising platform. The Shopify app is expected to roll out starting September 23, 2026 in international markets covered by ChatGPT ads.
