Anthropic launches Claude Docs, bringing document creation and slides into chat

By AI123

Anthropic has announced Claude Docs, a new feature that lets users ask Claude to create documents directly within a conversation. Documents are private by default, can be shared with colleagues for collaboration, and can be edited in Claude or exported to Google Docs and Microsoft Word.

The update also adds the ability to create slides and presentations in chat, without requiring users to open the Design interface. Presentations created in conversation can be edited directly or downloaded as PowerPoint or PDF files.

In addition, Anthropic is merging Cowork and Artifacts into a single interface. Cowork uses agentic AI to complete multi-step tasks, such as reading work documents and generating documents, slides, and spreadsheets. Artifacts lets users save content like documents, HTML pages, and diagrams in a sidebar for easy access.

Anthropic says the changes are designed to create a "One Claude" experience, letting Claude determine what a task needs and making capabilities available from any conversation with existing context, skills, and connectors. The rollout begins in the coming weeks for Pro and Max subscribers on web, desktop, and mobile, with Team and Free plans to follow soon.
