Samsung Expands One UI 9 to Galaxy S26 Series With New AI Features

By AI123

Samsung began rolling out One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 FE on Wednesday, a little over a month after the update first shipped with the company's latest foldables. The expansion brings the new AI-powered software to more users who prefer traditional slate-style smartphones.

Among the new features is My FanCam, which can automatically crop recorded video to keep a chosen subject in frame as they move. The feature is designed for scenarios like concerts, where users can shoot a wide view of a performance and let the phone handle the cropping in the preferred aspect ratio.

The update also includes several other AI-driven capabilities. Now Brief introduces generative and editable cards for daily summaries, while Now Nudge can pull personal context across the Galaxy ecosystem to offer suggestions, such as adding reservation details directly into a text conversation.

Interpreter gains a Thread View for easier review of translated conversations, with faster translations reported in Conversation Mode. Voice Recorder now produces summaries in a more structured format with headings and tables. Document Scan has been updated to better handle curved book pages and folded corners with less manual adjustment. One UI 9 also includes Security Brief, Privacy Alerts, and expands scam call detection to Japan, Canada and India.
