Meta's AI assistant Muse arrives on Mac
Meta's AI assistant app Muse is now available on Mac, allowing users to interact with native applications such as files, messages, calendar, notes and email.
As on other platforms, the Mac version lets users decide what Muse can access on an opt-in basis. Meta said the app will always ask for approval before performing sensitive actions.
Muse launched on mobile and the web earlier in September 2026, quickly rising to the top of the U.S. App Store charts. The Mac version arrives as competition among consumer-facing AI agents intensifies, with many in the industry viewing such agents as the future of computing. Announcing the Mac app on X, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, "The team is shipping fast."
Rivals are also moving quickly. Muse and Instinct both added voice calling in September 2026, while AI agent startup Instinct is reportedly in talks to raise new funding at a $10 billion valuation. Earlier, in July 2026, AI agent company Poke was acquired by Cognition.
