Napster and GEMS Education Partner to Develop AI Agents for Schools

By AI123

Napster has announced a partnership with GEMS Education, a Dubai-based private K-12 education provider, to develop and test AI agents for schools. The first phase will take place at the GEMS School of Research & Innovation, where teachers and students will help evaluate the technology. The collaboration will begin with proof-of-concept projects covering instructor digitalization, gamified learning, AI-assisted content creation, and classroom simulations.

Napster, best known for its peer-to-peer music file-sharing service launched in 1999, has fully pivoted to AI after being acquired by Infinite Reality for $207 million in 2025. The company shut down its music-streaming service in January 2026 and has since focused on AI applications such as phone-based customer-service agents and an AI concierge for ticket sales at the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix.

As part of the school partnership, Napster plans to create “digital twins” of teachers built on their subject-matter expertise. According to the companies, the AI personas will be trained on teachers’ materials, courses, and papers, allowing students to talk with them outside class and receive personalized help at their own pace.

The companies said the initiative is designed to extend the reach of teachers, not replace them. “The lesson is the smallest part of what a teacher does,” said Chief Product Officer Ziv Navoth. They aim to have a working solution by the end of 2026, with plans to deploy it across GEMS schools in the Middle East and beyond.
