Apple Settles Siri AI False-Advertising Class Action With $250M Fund
Apple has agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit filed in March 2025 that accused the company of false advertising over its AI-enhanced Siri. Plaintiffs alleged that Apple failed to deliver the significantly upgraded Siri it promoted during WWDC 2024 and in ad campaigns, with the features only arriving through the recent launch of iOS 27, which introduced a Siri AI beta.
Apple denied wrongdoing, and no finding of liability has been made. To resolve the claims, the company has established a $250 million settlement fund. Eligible consumers who bought an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 model between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025 can file claims for an estimated $25 to $95 per device, depending on the total number of valid claims submitted. Claims must be filed by December 21, 2026 via the Smartphone AI Settlement website.
A final fairness hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027 before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. If approved, qualifying iPhone owners could receive payments sometime in 2027.
