Ando comes out of stealth with a team messaging app for humans and AI agents
On Sept. 24, Ando emerged from stealth with a team communication platform built for both human employees and AI agents. The company positions the app as a full replacement for internal messaging tools such as Slack, giving agents their own identities and inboxes so they can take part in workplace conversations.
The app includes channels, direct messages, group chats, and live calls that can be transcribed for agents to review. Agents can browse and join channels on their own, participate in discussions without being tagged, and proactively send messages to human colleagues when needed. Founder Sara Du said the idea came from her work helping companies build MCP servers, where she saw that existing platforms treated agents as apps rather than as team participants.
Ando also announced $20 million in pre-seed and seed funding from Accel, Index Ventures, and Emergence. The company says it is currently working with customers in software, real estate, and finance across 15 countries, and will use the new capital to expand hiring.
