Ghost launches Core, a $3,499 computer built for AI agents
AI hardware startup Ghost emerged from stealth on Monday with the launch of Core, a personal computer designed specifically for AI agents. The device is priced at $3,499, with preorders for the first batch opening the same day and shipping scheduled for the last week of October.
Founded by 19-year-old Zain Javaid, Ghost has raised an $11 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Abstract, Audacious Ventures, SV Angel, and Nova. The company says Core is built to centralize a user's data—from desktop files to apps and smart home devices—into a single piece of hardware that can continuously run AI agents to assist with tasks and understand a person's daily life.
Core includes an Nvidia RTX Pro 4000 SFF Blackwell GPU, bundled into the device's price, along with a self-developed software layer, browser, and file system. The screenless device is accessed through a phone or app, and supports voice input through the Core app. It comes with three preinstalled models: Qwen-3.8-Next, Qwen-3.8-27B, and Gemma-4-31B. Users can also install other models from Hugging Face or load their own trained models.
According to the company, Core's hardware and software were built specifically for running AI agents, with models and personal memory running locally. All personal information is encrypted, and the device is designed to keep working even if Ghost shuts down. The team is also developing a firewall to monitor outgoing network requests and prevent agents from misusing user credentials.
