Ghost comes out of stealth with $11M for a personal AI computer

By AI123

Ghost, an AI hardware startup founded by 19-year-old Zain Javaid, has emerged from stealth after a year of development, announcing an $11 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz. Abstract, Audacious Ventures, SV Angel, and Nova also participated. The founding team includes Nicholas Chua, Yifei Chen, and Gautam Sharda.

The company's first product, Core, is a personal computer purpose-built for AI agents that can take actions on a user's behalf. Priced at $3,499, Core centralizes data from a user's desktop, apps, and smart home devices into a single device designed to continuously run AI agents. It comes with an Nvidia RTX Pro 4000 SFF Blackwell GPU and preinstalled open models including Qwen and Gemma, with support for installing additional models from Hugging Face.

Core has no screen and is accessed through a phone or app, with voice mode available via the Core app. All data and personal memory run locally and are encrypted, with Ghost saying it cannot meaningfully access user information. The device also includes a firewall that monitors outgoing network requests to prevent unauthorized data exfiltration. Preorders for the first batch opened October 5, with shipping scheduled for the last week of October 2026.
