Pinterest launches Beauty Guides, using generative AI to turn beauty Pins into salon action plans

Pinterest announced a new feature called Beauty Guides on Tuesday, powered by the company's visual intelligence and generative AI technology, Pinterest Intelligence. The feature aims to turn users' saved beauty inspiration Pins — such as hair and nail ideas — into actionable plans they can take to the salon.

Beauty Guides translates professional salon terms like “balayage,” “root melt,” and “almond nails” into everyday language, while also providing practical details such as expected time, price range, and maintenance requirements like how often to trim, tone, or touch up. Users can access the guides by tapping the “Get the Guide” button in the app.

At launch, the feature works across Pins related to hairstyle, hair color, nail shape, and nail finish.
