NTT Data in Final-Stage Talks to Build Data Center for Anthropic in Osaka

NTT Data, the IT services unit of Japanese telecom group NTT, is in the final stage of talks with Anthropic to build a data center in Osaka, Japan. Anthropic is an artificial intelligence company. The data center could cost up to 1 trillion yen (about $6.3 billion) and have power capacity of up to 500 megawatts, with partial operations expected as early as 2028. The two companies plan to sign an agreement before the end of fiscal 2026.
