Hesai Kosmo and Amap Launch 1,000 Pilot Sites for 3D Spatial Modeling
On October 14, Hesai Technology's Kosmo brand announced a partnership with Amap (AutoNavi) to open the first 1,000 pilot sites for 3D spatial modeling, covering premium malls, retail outlets, restaurants, hotels, and branded stores. The stores' interiors will be fully scanned and reconstructed into high-precision 3D spatial models, moving beyond traditional 2D floor plans.
The collaboration builds on Hesai's launch of the Kosmo One, described as the world's first 8K ultra-high-definition AI spatial camera. Equipped with a 1-inch CMOS sensor, the camera offers up to 8K resolution and 360-degree coverage, and can complete reconstruction of a 100-square-meter real-world space in 15 minutes. The company says it makes high-quality spatial modeling as easy as taking a photo.
The Kosmo One can convert real-world scenes into training data for robots, supporting physical AI training, as well as applications in world models, film and media, cultural tourism, and digital art. Hesai also introduced Kosmo World, an AI-driven cloud platform for one-stop 3D content creation and management in conjunction with Kosmo One.
