Bluesky's Attie expands with AI tools that let anyone build interactive experiences

By AI123

At TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 on Thursday, Bluesky announced new AI-powered creation capabilities for Attie, its experimental platform, allowing everyday users to build websites, quizzes, games, polls and other interactive experiences. Previously, Attie focused on AI-assisted custom feed creation; the update turns it into a broader tool for non-developers.

The user-generated experiences run on the AT Protocol, the same decentralized standard that powers Bluesky and other apps in the broader “Atmosphere” ecosystem. CEO Toni Schneider described the feature as “social vibe coding,” where people can build together or for a group of friends.

Creators can bring their own AI model or use open-weight options. Attie can also suggest project ideas based on a user's public Bluesky profile. COO Rose Wang noted that Attie benefits from Bluesky's built-in distribution, so creations can reach the platform's existing audience.

Bluesky currently has 47 million registered users, though engagement has declined recently. The company sees Attie as part of its broader push to revitalize activity by focusing on developers and communities. Schneider also said private data support, a top developer request, is in alpha testing and planned for release by the end of 2026.
